Macromolecular and Supramolecolar Chemistry

After graduating at the University of Rome, Italy, he was post doc in Israel, United States and France working on different aspects concerning the structure and function of biopolymers. In 1984 he joined the Department of Chemistry of the University of Naples, Italy, as assistant professor.
In 1990 he moved to the University of Rome Tor Vergata where he was associate professor till 2017, since then he is Full Professor.
He authored more than 180 papers on international, peer reviewed journals and spent a sabbatical period as Visiting Professor in 1999 at the University of Kyoto, Japan.
His research interests cover the design of new functional contrast agents, the structural and dynamic properties of hydrogels, the formulation of nanocomposites for biomedical uses. He was PI of several Eu Projects (FP 6, FP7, H2020).
